We’re talking about our Climate

You know gas
Is very bad.
And it’s very sad
Too many politicians say it’s not.

They’re talking rot!

They always say,
“Gas is better than coal.
Hey, it’s OK!”

But it’s not.

We’re talking about our Climate.

When you include extraction and transmission,
Fugitive action and methane emission,
Gas can be worse
Than coal.

And if the extraction is done by fracking
It’s a curse.
A terrible curse.

Fracking hurts everything we need:
Our water, land and Indigenous cultures,
Plants’ and animals’ and farmers’ futures,
And our Climate, of course.
What could be worse?
It’s just got to stop.

Don’t the miners and the pollies understand
What’s at stake?
Apparently not.
Or they would just stop. 

And it’s not our children and their children’s children
We are talking about now.
We’re talking about Now.
We’re talking about our Climate:
Fires, floods and storms and rain

South Pacific Islands under water again.
More death and destruction –

Here we go again…..

So please don’t vote for the Liberal Party.
Cause they won’t stop
Giving tax payers money to the gas extractors.
They are spin doctors and great actors.
Their mantra is: “Technology not Taxes”.
But what about our tax dollars and our futures
They blithely give to the fossil fuel polluters?
It’s not just political spin,
It’s a terrible sin.

Why do they do it?
Is it quid pro quo
For a donation or so?

I’ve asked them please to stop.

But they don’t stop.
And they won’t stop,
Till we stop –]
Voting for them.
